Officer shoots, injures a dog after alleged attack

COLORADO -- A Denver officer has shot and injured a dog who had reportedly attacked a woman and her dog.

The dog allegedly killed the woman's dog in the attack in the 1800 block of Patton Court.

Police say the woman was walking her dog when another dog attacked her dog. She was injured, but it is unclear if it was from the other dog or from falling during the attack.

Paramedics arrived on the scene and the attacking dog made an "aggressive move" towards the paramedics and the officers on the scene.

Police then shot at the dog and the bullet hit the dog's shoulder area.

The dog is at the animal control hospital now being treated for the injuries.

The breed of either dog is unknown at this time.
